The Maryland Pork Producers Association is a membership organization. These funds allow us to reach consumers, advocate for pork producers, share animal welfare information, and keep producers up-to-date on the latest news. There are a number of benefits provided for each member. To become a member please complete the online form here and mail it to our office with a check. To pay by card, please use the link below!
Membership Types
- Active: for those individuals engaged in the feeding and breeding of hogs. This fee provides non-checkoff revenue for MPPA and is necessary to fund activities. Membership is $25 each year.
- Associate: for companies and individuals whose business makes them commercially interested in processing, feeding, and/or breeding more and better hogs in Maryland. These members are unable to vote on matters pertaining to functions of the Association. Membership is $50 each year.
- Youth: for those involved in 4-H and FFA program, under the age of 18. Youth are unable to vote. Membership is $10 each year.
Member Benefits
- Consumer Connection: Those who sell local pork or pork products directly to consumers have the ability to list their information on the MPPA website!
- Pork Item Access: Our National pork organizations have an online pork store offering safety flyers, recipes, and more that MPPA members will have access to.
- Advocacy: Membership funds are used to represent Maryland’s pork farmers best interest in Annapolis to the legislative and executive branches of state government.
- Press Releases: Current information on hot topics and important issues are shared through an automated system to keep our members up-to-date.
- E-Newsletter: Members receive a quarterly e-newsletter with the latest pork news, updates, upcoming events, scholarship opportunities, and more.
- Social Media: The Association educates consumers and provides information for their members through their Facebook page, be sure to follow along.
- Promote Pork: Online and at events, the Maryland Pork Producers share recipes, safe handling information, and more to encourage the consumption of pork.
- Resources: Members are able to receive all-access resources for their operation.
- Youth Outreach: Pork staff work to reach the youth through 4-H and FFA workshops, shows, and events; showcasing careers in the pork industry.
