The Maryland Pork Producers Association is a grassroots organization that serves as producers’ voice in Annapolis. Your membership funds allow us to have good representation and provide a number of benefits to you! Pork producers, pork companies, and youth are welcome to join our association. March 27th Online Show Pig Sale

For the first year, the Maryland Pork Producers is excited to offer an online show pig sale this March! Maryland Pork Producers Association members get two free lots. If you are interested in selling in our sale, please let Jenell McHenry know at jenell.mdag@gmail.com or by calling 443-262-6969. The online pig sale is going through ShowPig.com. Here to Serve Pork Producers

Since 2022, our team has:

  • Partnered with Molly’s Sporting Goods for a pork promotional event in Kennedyville, MD where we interacted with 1,000 consumers and served pulled pork sliders.
  • Reached 16,000 people on Facebook and Instagram sharing food safety tips, recipes, and more.
  • Interacted with over 6,000 consumers with PA Pork at the Giant BBQ Battle in Washington, DC.
  • Shared four quarterly newsletters to producers and recently started a consumer quarterly newsletter.
  • Attended the Maryland Department of Agriculture’s buyer-grower event to represent our growers.
  • Through two school events and the Maryland FFA Convention, we reached 800 students.
  • Received three National Pork Board Grants for grocery store marketing, video game development, and state fair tastings.
  • Sponsored the Maryland State BBQ Battle and attended the event this October.
  • Obtained grant funds to purchase Virtual Reality goggles to showcase the reality of pork production from Farm Credit Foundation and PA Pork.
  • Attended the Maryland State Fair and handed out pork tastings.
  • Obtained $30,500 of National Check-Off dollars to include pork production into an already established video game entitled “Agrownomics” through the Maryland STEM Festival and encourage pork purchases and consumption through grocery store marketing, reaching our 1 million consumers.
